The "Part B" exercises offer practice in applying the principles presented in the chapter as well suggestions for explorations beyond those techniques. The exercises labeled as "Part A " are clearly chosen to guide readers to the level of mathematical rigor or elegance they might desire, frequently highlighting opportunities to verify details of the development in the associated text section. My appreciation for the fabulous tool that Maple embodies has been firmly renewed. One of the best features of the book is that mathematical techniques are explored "by hand" before the powerful tools available in Maple are illustrated. Robert Lopez provides appropriate introductions to each topic along with useful references, then the text goes into details of each topic very quickly. "The level of mathematical rigor in the Advanced Engineering Math e-book is perfect for a text entitled "engineering" math.
